It could be worth a good idea for the coaching staff to platoon Tommie and ATV based on the match up. Tommie could play against the bigger, more physical WRs while ATV plays against the rest.

Verner is crafty, he can play the slower smaller vets, Campbell is still learning but if you stick him on a guy and say stick with him this play, that might work.

i'm not sold on last nights game. Falcons didn't look bothered or even interested. Matt Ryan got sacked and yawned on the sideline once. I want to see us play like this in the regular season against good teams. Last Nights game is nothing to go by, you have to go by how they played last season until proven wrong in real games. thats just the bottom line.

Yeh maybe, but we finally saw consistent and solid play from our team.

What really struck me is that even though our D gave yards early, THEY DIDN'T GIVE POINTS. Say what you want, in today's NFL you will give up yards, but red zone D is more important than ever before.

Instead of going down 14-0 or 21-0 like they would last year, they held tight. Our offense then got into gear with Jake, the OLine, and WRs dominating. Then normally (ala last year) our D would get soft and allow TDs since our O finally got moving, right? Well, THEY DIDNT!!! They stayed strong and got even stronger. Now, this is a team and mentality I can get behind. Our starters dominated their starters, and even though they didn't have WR R.White, we didn't have any of our 'backers or Kendall either, so that's no excuse...

Both lines dominated and thats why it looked so easy - everything starts up front. Also, our DBs finally played some press coverage and the QB had no where to go with the ball. Those under routes and quick-outs were eliminated as well and we got great pressure consistently because of it.

Also, on offense, OC Dowell called some really nice plays and drew up some interesting things. He also said that in week 1 and 2 of the preseason he was calling very 'vanella' and basic stuff, whereas this game, they had a plan going in and it definitely made a huge difference.

All in all, i was very pleased with the team as a whole, both the players and staff...

You can't take away the sacks and pressure we were getting. We had a lot of guys out on defense and they still held a potent offense to 6 points. They tightened things up early and made good adjustments.

^^ Gotta say I was pleased with the coaching too. They made a lot of nice adjustments on defense and consistently found a way to get to the ball.

Was also very proud of Locker. He seemed a lot more confident and in control of the offense. Hopefully he's comfortable with what they're doing. He looked like it last night.

We were witihout 4 of our 5 best LBs. It should help our run D to get at least some of them back.
