How can I forget....I had said earlier a week or so back that Ryan Fitzpatrick may be the one X factor to save the season if Locker struggles or goes down....great game, great second half, and maybe the best free agent signing of the 2013 season....didn't like losing Hasselbeck, but starting to really appreciate Ryan Fitzpatrick....

An all around better second half and second showing by the Tennessee Titans with our reserves:

Alterraun Vernner, Damian Williams and Moise Fokou need to be in the starting lineup or be on the field as much as possible....Nice find as an honorable mention in regard to Jackie Battle....

From what i've seen so far, I prefer Fitz over Matt.

Its the preseason so i can't really judge, and i expect him to play well against 2nd and 3rd stingers. But, I feel like he's got more zip on the ball, definitely more mobile too. Also, with Matt gone, it helps make it officially Jake's team.

Also, I feel like Matt didn't take enough shots down the field, course I can't say Ryan would, but as a younger guy w/ people like Britt/Nate/Wright/D-will/Hunter and so forth, I can see him giving the receiver a chance. Not sure what it was, but like KFC, Matt's accuracy really went way down on longer throws... Again, I know Ryan is also more a short passer, but him and Steve J were able to connect on some bombs when he was in NY, so the potential is there...

I have to say I loved it. He was not bad in Buffalo. Just horribly overpaid and not quite starter caliber. When he was released I was thinking "Man I would love the Titans to sign Fitz as a backup." Never thought we would. Boy was I happy when I heard he was visiting Nashville.

Fitz has basically the same weaknesses Matt had. The weaknesses aren't as bad because Fitz isn't old like Hass, but they are actually very similar QB's imo.

For clarification purposes, Fitz is no spring chicken, but Hass is old. Not just in terms of age, but his arm strength went from weak to utter poo last season.

Fitz is one of the better backups and could start for a few teams. In Buffalo, Chan kept telling him to throw it throw it, so he had too many INTs. With run game support he could be very good. Of course ideally you won't need him

Finally watched the game on my DVR last night, due to the game not airing until after 11:30 Saturday night - which really sucks considering I actually LIVE in Cinci!

Locker was a bright spot... good to see.

What help Fitzpatrick out, A LOT, is the offensive gameplan in the second half seemed to be to feed the ball to the run game. Fitz did well, don't get me wrong.

    Here's the thing about that:

I like it. Imagine if the Titans did this with the first team. Feed the ball to CJ and Greene with Locker playing "mop-up" in the pass game. We will have an effective offense - for once.

If Fitz has to come in... I can see him succeeding with that scheme, easily.
