ok we haven't cut the cord yet but I got Comcast to give me a new modem which has a wireless router built in. We bought an HD antenna and a Roku. We signed up for netflix (1 month free trail). I can get all of the local channels on the HD antenna so if a game is on the local stations I am good. Aqmazing how mnay christian tv channels are out there...geesh

We watched all of the Netflix series House of Cards and Orange is the new Black. Both of them were great. We can't wait for them to start their 2nd season. I still need to sign up for more free trials of a month. Hulu Plus offered a free week....sorry that isn't enough time.

there are 2 shows on FX that we want to continue to watch. One is The Americans and the other is The Bridge. So far no luck finding them anywhere without paying for it :(

I have extended cable for 1 more month to see how it goes. If I can get FX on a lower tier package we may go that way.

I enjoyed House of Cards as well. I've not seen the other yet.

I've been thinking about bailing on Comcast but love the internet cable and HD. If I could get a combo of Comcast internet and another service that provides HD-quality cheaper, I'd go for it.

Yea, I would need FX as well for The League and Justified. No chance I go below the package that has FX

House of Cards is probably my favorite show outside of Breaking Bad and Homeland.

you can always keep the internet from Comcast, ditch the cable TV and get Direct Tv

    That is very unfortunate.

But I'm jealous that you have the ability to watch Breaking Bad all the way through for the first time.

I still haven't watched The West Wing, Sopranos or Dexter so that is more shows to add to the list. When you never had HBO or Showtime and those other channels you can miss out

Late to the thread, but I thought I'd still give my take on it.

I'm about to move into an apartment with a roommate and neither of us have any desire to pay for cable. You can watch pretty much everything you want to watch online, from movies to sports and TV shows. It may not seem as convenient, but once you know where to go, you can watch everything at your own schedule. A good computer and internet connection can easily fulfill your cable entertainment needs. You can even synchronize it to a large screen TV if you have some buddies over. Screw cable, lol.
