Receivers like new playbook

The Titans haven’t worked for long with offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains’ new playbook, but wide receiver Damian Williams has already noticed a difference in the passing attack.

“I think this year we’re using our (receivers) in the right spots,” said Williams, who caught 30 passes last season. “Guys are running the routes that they’re used to running and they’re comfortable running, and we’re putting guys in position to go out and make plays.

“It’s like, you know a guy is great at this route, so he can run it. He doesn’t have to think. He just goes out and plays fast.”

Much was made of previous offensive coordinator Chris Palmer’s high use of option routes, in which receivers and quarterbacks had to hope they were making the same reads of the defense.

“We still have those, but I think it’s more this year that our concepts are a little more rooted in what we’re used to doing and able to do,” Williams said.

The fourth-year pro said the changes make him more confident in the offense looking ahead.

“Definitely,” he said. “I just think everybody is out here in a situation where we’re comfortable. I think we’re making plays — not because of talent, because obviously we’ve been talented — but I think we’ve been able to show our talent more. We’re allowed to play fast and we’re not out there thinking all the time.”

I'm quite excited for this upcoming season, the FO put this team in a position to win by filling most of the holes we had. Now we need to mesh quickly and hope for a little luck with injuries, in game luck wouldn't hurt either lol.

I think most people feel pretty confident with the new Offensive line, WR's, and running game and the offensive potential. The REAL question is going to be, how does the defense hold up?!?!

Also think it is telling about Palmer's playbook and blocking schemes. Hope we go back to blocking with power and pulling guards and center like we used to do. The reason the Texans run the ball so well is the blocking scheme just like the redskins too. Does not matter the back, they run it.

Bottom Line: There is no excuse for this team not to be a top 10 Offense. If there is any starter that doesn't step up, then we have a good backup ready to take the starter's spot.

Although that seems lofty, I have to agree. We have tons of competition everywhere. Jake is going to have a much easier time thanks season, and that's what I'm most excited about

I agree actually lots of folks forget but Locker actually looked very good before he hurt is shoulder. Plus we have fitz, if it does not work out and I feel quite confident that, we have way more weapons than the Bills. Wr core is and should be better than at anytime since the titans came to Nashville.

I think next year we go aggressive on Defense (barring we don't have major injuries or setbacks at key positions on Offense). If we do, we could be a VERY strong team for years to come. They will be young and deep in postitions. I really hope that they get some good DE's or MLB next draft or offseason.

Speaking of Luck. I can't wait to destroy Luck two games every year with our new defense ha ha. I hope its a cart off both games.

(I can say that, I'm a fan, not part of the organization)
