Active NBA Player Comes Out Of The Closet

I bet the Steelers have put in a call to see if he wants to come to their team.

 

Any of you read the story of the MTSU kicker that was openly gay?

I thought it was awesome because the team treated him like just another player. Which doesn't usually happen for kickers anyway.


But if MTSU can do so... in the south... on a football team... that's encouraging.

Just don't admit to being Muslim in M'boro though.

openly gay kicker - OK whatever. nobody cares.

 

This kinda coverage is going to happen until we have a few players in every sport come out, I'd just get used to it guys.

 

So I had my first Jason Collins' debate the other day with a gay guy in my programming class who took the stance that Jason Collins would not fin I team because he was openly gay. I was on the side that he was not going to find a job because he is a 35 year old career backup center with a sub 50 FT% and that anyone who says otherwise is over blowing this whole impact.

Also, I do not find what Jason Collins did all that courageous as he came out as gay after his career was effectively over. 90% of the population knew who he was before this week and him coming out is not going to change a thing in professional sports.

Call me when LeBron, Kobe, or Durant come out of the closet.
