The overwhelming majority of experts believe Warmack to be the far superior prospect. You may find some people who believe Cooper is better, and thats fine if you want to believe them but you have to realize that this opinion not common.

Cooper gets his guy way off the line of scrimmage. My walling off comment refers to Cooper's effective use of reach blocking to seal off the defender and ensure that his guy does not make the play. Despite what you seem to be insinuating he doesn't just stalemate the guy at the line. He drives his man well off the line and is then able to get his hips around and seal him off to ensure the running lane he just created stays open. Warmack drives his guy further but a few times his man makes the play anyway, even if it is a bit further down field.

If you make a hole and prevent the guy you're assigned to from making/disrupting the play isn't that "erasing" him? Driving the D-lineman off the line is essential but you don't have to recreate the blocking scene from The Blindside to be effective. All that is required is that you drive your man off the line, make a good hole your RB can get through, and prevent your guy from making the play by any means necessary. Cooper does all of that consistenly and I challenge you to prove me wrong.

By the way, a quick google search brought me to Profootballweekly.com which I find to be a pretty reputable site (their grades are based off of information from scouts) has Warmack and Cooper rated as even at draft grade of 6.60 so the idea that Warmack is vastly superior is not as common as you seem to think it is.

Here is Todd Mcshay affirming my claim that many people rate Cooper as better:

Here is the important part : "Many evaluators are rating North Carolina’s Jonathan Cooper ahead of Warmack, but both could go in the top 10 or 12 picks."

Here is is rotoworld saying NFL teams think Cooper is just as good or better: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/8419/jonathan-cooper

Face it man. Public opinion has changed. Many people believe Cooper is better than Warmack for their team or just flat out better. It's admittedly not the majority but definitely enough to be a credible position to hold.Reports have surfaced that even our beloved Titans think Cooper is better for us. You can disagree with what all these people are saying, as it is your right, but it's mighty arrogant of you to just straight up dismiss it because you're of a different opinion. Just because you don't accept a position doesn't mean it's not valid. And in the future please try to lay off the condescension,I've shown you nothing but respect in our conversations and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect some in return.

That majority is not quite as overwhelming as it used to be. Many reputable people rate him as better. My eyes and gut tell me he is the better prospect and the fact that many people who do this for a living agree with me only serves to assure me that I'm not crazy lol.

I doubt that I will convince people to change their stance as most people are deeply entrenched in their position but this is an opinion/debate driven board and I love to debate. Plus I think I'm right but honestly don't we all?

Cooper's athleticism is nice, but he's a more risky pick. I don't want to take a guy at 10 who will get pushed around a bit due to his lack of strength. Warmack is a bulldozer, freak of nature who doesn't care how good the lineman across from him is. I'd like an athletic guard too, but I don't think I could take him at 10 over Warmack. Trade back a few picks, and then it becomes more appealing.

The success rate of guards, plus the fact that Warmack actually wants to be here makes me want to get him even more.

It's really hard to argue against Warmack, trust me I've tried. He truly is a great prospect. All I can do is argue for Cooper.

I want a G at 10. Good blocking will make everyone on the offense better, plain and simple. You have a young QB who was hit a lot last year, a RB that was consistently hit in the back field. If you give Locker time, it will make it easier for him to grow, sit in the pocket, or scramble out. You don't see super bowl winning teams have their QB's running around getting sacked a lot. You've gotta control the LOS in the NFL. There's a reason 50% of the starting OL guys in the SB this year were 1st round picks.

Yes you're right, good blocking will make everyone on the offense better, plain and simple. But here's the thing; good blocking AND a great pass rusher will make us a complete team, and thats something we can do if we spin these first two picks right.

We don't have to use up a 10th overall pick to achieve good blocking, we can get a much much better value going Guard in the 2nd round (Andy Levitre was a 2nd round pick BTW). You can't get a dominating freak of nature pass rusher after the 1st round. You get Everette Brown in the 2nd round, we dont need that LOL.

The thing is though...I don't see a dominating freak of nature pass rusher in this years draft.
